NCAA Opening this June

Get ready as the clash of the giants in the 88th NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) season fires off on June 23 (Saturday) at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum, Cubao, Quezon City.

The country's long-time running and oldest collegiate sports league will be on air at TV5’s sports channel AKTV thus intensifies their network tie-up through a three-year contract.

This year's league will be hosted by Colegio de San Juan de Letran.  In a formal turnover ceremony on March 15, Letran rector and president Rev. Fr. Tamerlane R. Lana, O.P. receives the NCAA flag from Dr. Antonio Tamayo, representative of outgoing NCAA host, University of Perpetual Help Dalta System.

In his message, Fr. Lana reveals Letran’s thoughts for NCAA Season 88. "This year’s league promises more excitement and certainly greater surprises as the association ties up with a new media partner for the next three years. We just hope that this new partnership would provide us with greater opportunities to attract and develop more effectively young men and women who manifest great potentials in the field of sports, and thus contribute something to the sport development program of the country which direly needs support of the various sectors, particularly the educational sector. Letran considers its hosting as a distinct privilege to spearhead the Associatio's endeavor to bring it to "greater heights", that is why the theme chosen for this season is: "Celebramos 88! Conquistar por tu Honor Nuevas Glorias" (Celebrate 88! Conquering new glories for your honor). The theme is inspired by Letran’s alma mater hymn.”
